3 more days of summer school!

Can you believe it? We are almost done with summer school! You all have grown so much this summer (even if you don't see it now!) But sit a moment and think of all the things you have accomplished this month! Post back if you want with something new you learned in June, something you did for the first time in June (build a plant bed, paint a mural?), or maybe even a new friend you made!

As fas as math class goes, there is no homework this weekend, so enjoy! And be prepared for a summer school final next week.

One think I have learned this summer is how to make an oragami dragon and how to start my own garden! What about you?

More Math Greatness

Here's the HW low down...

6th Grade: Fraction problems and QUIZ tomorrow
7th Grade: Multiplying negative number quarter sheets and QUIZ tomorrow

And speaking of fractions...
A mathematician wandered home at 3 AM. His wife became very upset, telling him, "You're late! You said you'd be home by 11:45!" The mathematician replied, "I'm right on time. I said I'd be home by a quarter of twelve."

hilarious.

Vote Illinois.

This is embarrassing, Spring Arbor and UT are beating Illinois. At least Minnesota is where it belongs, last...! Did you know at Illinois when it rains all the students meet in the center of campus (called the quad) and go slip and sliding in the mud?! What more could you ask for??

Those of you looking for the HW assignment:
6th Grade: Both sides of the multiplying and dividing worksheet, be sure to illustrate multiplication (only for problems with proper fractions)
7th Grade: Quarter sheet problems of adding and subtracting negative numbers (don't forget when 2 subtraction signs meet...lalala.)

Homework and Joke Update

First of all, thank you to those of you who DID enjoy my joke; I still contend it is better then Mr. Little's. Also, there is NO math homework from Monday, June 8th.

6th grade reviewed adding and subtracting mixed numbers.
7th grade learned about absolute value.

Anyone who was absent, please stop by for the work you missed.

Here is today's math joke (go and impress some folks with this one!):

Q: How does a mathematician induce good behavior in her children?
A: `I've told you n times, I've told you n+1 times...'

Get it?!
